Last week we introduced divine restoration of all things. This week we are going to expand on that.
Let us open our bible to Joel 2:25-26. – 25 “So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you. 26 You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of the Lord your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame!
To Restore – means bringing something that was lost or stolen or damaged to its original state or better.
We are going to discuss how restoration has been fulfilled in the scriptures.
How did God restore the Israelites from Egypt after about 400 years to the promised land?
The Israelites cried to God of their suffering. Then He remembered the promise He made to His friend, Abraham. Before they cried to God, they were calling to Egyptians and their leaders. The more they cried, the more they intensified their suffering. But when they turned their eyes and cry to man to God, God responded. God remembered His promise to Abraham, His friend. He sent Moses to deliver them. How did He deliver them? By signs and wonders and miracles that no one has ever seen before.
You shall receive power.
Jesus said in Acts 1:8 that you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
My concern right now is how will this and the next generation remember you and me? They may say we were genuinely nice people but did not leave any testimony of what God did and what He can do. That is a scary thought. How will my children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren remember me or remember you? In Christendom, the only way Jesus says people will remember you is by how many souls you took with you to heaven, what the hand of God did through you.
Why does God deliver?
It’s for Himself and because He created us for His glory. Isaiah 43:7. We are a reflection Who God is.
God wants to restore you better than your past.
God says that your latter glory shall be greater than your former glory. Haggai 2:9.
Why? Because you are God’s temple. 1 Corinthians 3:16.
We obtain restoration by faith in Christ and holding on to God’s word. Remind Him of what He said He will do for you, to restore you better than you are now. Continue to thank Him until you see the manifestation. The bible says we should continue to pray and believe God and not faint.
Remember not your past.
Isaiah 43:18-19 –
“Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I will do a new thing. Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.
He will deliver us from something to something.
We are delivered from our past into plenty, not emptiness or nothing.
Colossians 1:13-14 – God has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed or restored us into the kingdom of the Son, Jesus of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. You see, you are delivered from something into something new and better.
We move from the power of darkness to the Kingdom of Jesus, where you reign with Him.
From sin to righteousness
From fear to boldness
Lack of plenty.
God’s mandate to you today.
Go and live a restored life. You are the best treasure that God has. He cares about you. Give thanks to Him and remind Him of what you have learned today.
God bless you and keep you. May He answer your prayer when you pray, in Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.
We at All Nations Family Church see people as God sees them. We see people that God can restore. We don’t see people as they are in the world; we see them of what they can be in Christ and the house of God.
Your restoration begins when you repent of your sins, ask for forgiveness from God in the name of Jesus, God will start His restoration in you.
May God bless you. May His good countenance shine upon you. May God favor you and your family throughout this week, in Jesus Christ, name, amen.
